Valiant’s flagship series X-O Manowar slowly marches towards its landmark 50th issue. And Valiant has just unveiled the top talent behind the 64-page anniversary blockbuster.
To conclude the seismic final story arc, “Long Live the King,” writer Robert Venditti will team up with artists Joe Bennett and Roberto de la Torre. They will be joined by artists Cary Nord, Doug Braithwaite, Diego Bernard, Rafa Sandoval, and Robert Gill.
This 64-page epic will also include never-before-seen tales and tributes from Jody Houser and Javier Pulido, Matt Kindt and Tomas Giorello, Philip Tan, and more to be announced.
“Reaching 50 issues is no small feat in today’s marketplace, and Robert Venditti, Cary Nord, Doug Braithwaite, Trevor Hairsine, Diego Bernard, and Robert Gill – among a host of many others – have done an extraordinary job making X-O MANOWAR one of the most acclaimed, most vital, and most deftly executed series on the stands,” said Valiant Editor-in-Chief Warren Simons. “Issue #50 is a defining moment – one that will reassess not only the extraordinary journey the character has taken since 2012, but where he is headed next. This truly is the capstone for one of the most compelling and considered runs in modern comics, and the final salvo of a long-form epic that I believe will stand as one of Valiant’s great achievements for years to come.”
In “Long Live the King,” X-O Manowar will be faced with an unthinkable alien race known as The Torment, who have traveled to Earth unlock the armor’s secret. Aric of Dacia opposes them, but will he be enough to repel a force capable of leveling a thousand civilizations?
X-O Manowar #50 will also feature an epic All-Star Jam Cover featuring contributions from over 50 top comic creators.
Along with this epic cover, Paolo Rivera, Marko Djurdjevic, Marcos Martin, Mico Suayan, Francesco Francavilla, Shane Davis, Pere Perez, Chip Zdarsky, Philip Tan, Kaare Andrews, and Phil Jimenez will each contribute their very own cover.
And finally, Valiant has their X-O Manowar #50 Countdown Giveaway which features 4-by-6 inch micro-prints featuring X-O Manowar that will come with each issue of the “Long Live The King” story arc at no additional cost!
