Arrow’s Stephen Amell Starts Fundraising Campaign To Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey!

Arrow’s Stephen Amell launched a fundraiser on Crowd Rise in order to raise money for the Greater Houston Community Foundation to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Amell talked about his connections to the Houston area including his winery, Nocking Point. Amell also spoke about how his wife went to school in Corpus Cristi and he vistis the city often.

He elaborated, “Since we met in 2011, I have been regularly spending time down in Houston. I have extended family there.”

Amell really encouraged everyone to donate even if it’s just $5.

I would really encourage everybody. Don’t feel like if you can only commit $5 that you are somehow not apart of the process. As a matter of fact, when I’ve done campaigns like this before its the $5 donations that really make the difference.

And if donating to help victims of Hurricane Harvey wasn’t enough, Amell noted they would give away some of their Nocking Point products. “We are going to scoot through the list of people that donate and we are going to make sure that we randomly select a few people just to send some Nocking Point goodies your way.”

Amell then wished all those struggling with Hurricane Harvey to “be strong. Stay safe. You have people’s support.”

Watch:

As of this writing, Amell and Nocking Point have raised $24,124 for Hurricane Harvey victims on Crowd Rise.

The proceeds will go to support the Greater Houston Community Foundation. Amell described the fund:

After receiving an overwhelming number of inquiries from citizens and companies who want to help, Mayor Sylvester Turner has established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund that will accept tax deductible flood relief donations for victims that have been affected by the recent floods. The fund will be housed at the Greater Houston Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity.
