I can’t believe it’s going to be four seasons of Gotham already!

From the get-go, Gotham set out to tackle the background of the city that would shape one of Earth’s greatest heroes. We got to witness the rise of popular villains like Penguin and Riddler, the little-known childhood of Bruce Wayne, and the development of Jim Gordon.  All of these gave us something more than what most we were accustomed to.

Now we have a huge world filled with villains and their personal baggage. From the Penguin to a young Selina Kyle, Gotham has done a wonderful job of laying down the groundwork for so many other villains and rivals of the Dark Knight. Victor Freeze, the Mad Hatter, and the Court of Owls are just a few who are now seeded within the city. Gotham has placed its bets on those around the icon instead of focusing right on him. It looks like Gotham Season 4 will be continuing this trend with the arrival of Ra’s Al Ghul, Solomon Grundy, and the Scarecrow.

Speaking of which, Scarecrow gets a bit more face time in the latest trailer for Gotham. Check it out below!

In this four-minute plus trailer, we’re treated to a recap of the last three seasons, how it all ties together, and where it might go. We are also given an extended look into the coming forth season which also includes a bit more footage of Bruce Wayne in his costume as well as the Scarecrow.

While we know Solomon Grundy and Professor Pyg will debut this season, we still don’t have any footage of them.

Gotham Season Four debuts this Thursday, September 21 on Fox.
