Daisy Ridley denied that she is done with Star Wars following Episode IX. Rolling Stone, the outlet known for running the fake University of Virginia rape story, reported Daisy Ridley didn’t “want to play the character after the next movie.”

Rolling Stone attempted to back up this report with Ridley’s own words:

“No,” she says flatly. “For me, I didn’t really know what I was signing on to. I hadn’t read the script, but from what I could tell, it was really nice people involved, so I was just like, ‘Awesome.’ Now I think I am even luckier than I knew then, to be part of something that feels so like coming home now.”

The article continues:

“No,” she says again, smiling a little. “No, no, no. I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films. So in my head, it’s three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out.”

However, Ridley recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight’s Carly Steel (video above) and claimed Rolling Stone’s story misquoted her. Daisy explains:

Misquote. It was a misquote. Firstly that was at the end of a very long day. The end of a very long shoot. It was pouring it down with rain in Montreal. We were talking about where the trilogy is going, wherever it is. All I said was as far as I was concerned when I signed on, I was signing on to VII, VIII, and IX. I don’t know about any plans beyond that. That’s for Disney, that’s for anyone else in charge to decide.

Steel then asked her if she would be open to returning to Rey.

Daisy responded, “In my mind that is where the story ends. That’s where everyone for now. Mark’s talked about it. The trilogy represents a beginning, middle and an end.” Daisy also clarified that “Star Wars works in threes, anyways. So yea. That was misquoted.”

Steel then followed up and asked, “So, there’s a possibility?”

Daisy shrugs her shoulders and answers, “Yea, who knows.”

Daisy Ridley stars as Rey in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi which hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
