A few days ago, I stumbled across what was purportedly leaked footage from Avengers: Infinity War. It features the Guardians of the Galaxy nonchalantly walking into what looks to be Thanos interrogating Benicio Del Toro’s character, The Collector. The Collector is on the ground, pleading with the mad Titan that he didn’t have the stone and that he had sold it. The Guardians are hiding in the back and Drax is ready to take his revenge. Quill is trying to hold him back. The footage cuts out at points and cuts back in, and I suppose it’s because the cut footage with Josh Brolin’s voice is unfinished CG clips of Thanos.

On this same account there is a picture posted a few days ago of Mantis using her empath powers on an unconscious Thor. And Rocket Racoon is looking on from the back.

The story isn’t so much this leaked footage, but the fact that the footage kind of shows us what we expected would happen. It doesn’t give anything big away, and even though it isn’t official, going to the Collector would be one of Thanos’ stops on the way to obtaining the stones. You can watch it here while it’s still available.

Delving further into it, I found out a month ago that a Reddit user by the name AscendedAncient obtained some footage from the film and was sporadically putting clips and images up online. There were tons of rumors online about how he obtained this footage. Supposedly he worked for Double Negative, a VFX studio in charge of post production for some big projects, like Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, an upcoming television series on Freeform, as well as Avengers: Infinity War. When diving in to the story, I found another clip he released a month ago ahead of the movie’s trailer.

So what has happened to this user? He promised to release more clips at some point, but then suddenly his account went silent. The stills he took and posted on Imgur were taken down, and the clips are exceedingly hard to find. What he left oo the internet though was a taste for what was coming in the Avengers: Infinity War trailer that would premiere just a few days afterward.
