The Present Meets the Past As Superman’s Cape Shows Up in Latest Krypton Trailer

Superman's Cape

SyFy is ramping up their promotion of their upcoming Krypton television series. The show showcases Superman’s grandfather, Seyg-El,  as he attempts to redeem the House of El and save the world from chaos.

In the latest trailer, titled “Legacy,” Superman’s  cape inspires Seyg-El to save the House of El’s legacy and attempt to save his world.

Watch:

Krypton will be set two generations before the destruction of Krypton and Kal-El’s journey to Earth. It will reportedly take place 200 years before the destruction of Krypton. Seyg-El has been cast out, shunned, and shamed from Kryptonian society. However, a visit from Adam Strange looks to put him back on the path of redemption.
In the comics Strange was an archaeologist who was teleported to the planet Rann. He becomes a stalwart defender of the planet using their advanced technology to defeat extraterrestrial threats. Interestingly, he’s been a foe of the Justice League. So, it’s unclear whether he will actually be aiding Seyg-El or might be using him for his own gains to help protect Rann, if it shows up in the show.

David S. Goyer, the writer of The Dark Knight and Man of Steel brings Krypton to SyFy on March 21, 2018.

The show stars Cameron Cuffe as Seyg-El, Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange, Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod, Ian McElhinney as Val-El, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ann Ogbomo as Alura Zod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa, Aaron Pierre as Dev-EM, and Paula Malcomson as Charys-El. Blake Ritson has also been cast as one of Superman’s most powerful villains, Brainiac. The show is also expect to see other DC characters appear on the show including Doomsday and Hawkgirl.

The show has some heavy hitters behind it other than David S. Goyer. Damian Kindler from Sleepy Hollow will executive produce as well as act as showrunner. Colm McCarthy from Peaky Blinders will direct and co-executive produce the pilot. Ian Goldberg from Once Upon A Time and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will join Goyer on writing duties for the pilot.
