Deadpool 2 Star Zazie Beetz Reveals She’s Signed a Three Picture Deal

Zazie Beetz Domino

Deadpool 2 hasn’t even hit theaters yet and everyone seems to want a piece of Zazie Beetz aka Domino. The Untitled Deadpool Sequel will be her debut and she’s expected to reprise her role in the forthcoming X-Force film. However, those two films won’t be the last we see of Zazie Beetz’s Domino.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox and Deadpool 2 co-star Ryan Reynolds are confident in the star. Beetz has signed a “three-picture deal with Fox, likely to play out in the X-Force spinoff movies.”

It’s almost assured that the X-Force film will go ahead and Beetz will be apart of it. However, the third picture could see her reprise her role in a third Deadpool movie or possibly follow-up the X-Force movie with a sequel. Last September, Fox brought on Drew Goddard to write and direct X-Force and the film is expected to shoot in October before the Disney/Fox merger is finalized. Goddard previously worked on Marvel’s Daredevil and The Martian.

Deadpool 2 is expected to well at the box office. CinemaBlend actually predicts it will be the fourth highest grossing film of the year. The movie was pushed ahead a month into a May premiere.

To get ready for Deadpool 2, Zazie had to endure two months of training before shooting even started. Also, while production was underway she was still training another four hours per day. She talks about her experiences getting ready to embody Domino:

“It was a lot. Especially because in my routine day-to-day, I didn’t really work out that much. So it was a huge transition emotionally and physically … just something I hadn’t felt before. [I’d] never really brought myself that far.”

Like many comic book actors, Beetz wasn’t much of a comic book fan before becoming Domino. She tells the Hollywood Reporter she did enjoy Calvin and Hobbes which she described as “the classic not-comic-book-reader’s comic.”

Deadpool 2 gets a worldwide release on May 18th.
