The Avengers director Joss Whedon doubled down on his attacks against President Donald Trump. However, he would also note that he got a slap on the wrist from Twitter after calling for the President’s death.
Whedon would write, “Well I was put in twitter suspension but luckily there was also a jock, a weird girl, a socialite, and a rebel and it turns out we’re all the same or something (?) anyway they all hooked up and I had to write this tweet so I’m not sure, trump still killing the country tho lol.”

It’s unclear who Whedon is referring to when he mentions the jock, weird girl, socialite and rebel. It’s possible it could be a Breakfast Club reference.
Whedon had originally called for President Donald Trump’s death earlier last week tweeting, “Donald trump is killing this country. Some of it quickly, some slowly, but he spoils and destroys everything he touches. He emboldens monsters, wielding guns, governmental power, or just smug doublespeak. Or Russia. My hate and sadness are exhausting. Die, Don. Just quietly die.”
The reactions to Whedon’s latest Tweet were mixed to say the least.
Many remained critical of Whedon and while they praised his directing talent they were saddened, disappointed, and even angered by his nastiness towards President Donald Trump.
I don’t hate u Joss, but I just threw away my Firefly collection that I loved very much! I was a brown coat through and through. Your hatred for the President, or anyone for that matter, wishing him dead is TRULY DEPLORABLE. You live a great life unlike many others. Shame on you.

You still don’t understand why Trump won, do you? Keep it up and he’ll end up being “two-term Trump”.

Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll find yourself back in suspension before too long, since you clearly have no regrets about your asinine tweet.

I will never pay for or watch/support anything you are in any way related to again. If you had any honor, any integrity, you would be ashamed. Simply put – Good people do not have their tweets removed.

You were one of the most influential minds in pop culture. You gave us Buffy, you gave us Firefly, you helped make Marvel the juggernaut it is today, yet you have your head so far up your own ass you have become a disgrace. Quit the politics, focus on your craft.

Wishing death on anyone is never cool

You seemed to be a less sucky human when you made interesting entertainment.

You created IMO the greatest ever media texts. However, just because I think you are a fantastic professional in your field, that doesn’t mean you are exempt from criticism. You said something entirely unacceptable, and it’s something that most on the Right wouldn’t say. Own it.

One would think you could tell a better story. The fact that you think Trump is ruining this country shows just how much you don’t care about it. Maybe take some of your time and pull your head out of Make Believe or your ass and go see the real America. Good luck

I can no longer be a fan of somebody who would wish death on somebody. You liberals say you’re so tolerant, but I beg to differ.

There were also many that supported Whedon.
I am sorry that happened to you Joss. I know how it feels. I was sent to my room twice last year for, I assume, being “disrespectful” to Trump. Wear your timeout as a badge of honor, Sir! 💛

You are awesome sir!

You don’t say?
I got suspended recently for inviting the president to terminate his corporeal existence.
Thought that kinda talk was acceptable here, what with POTUS threatening North Korea and all.
If we cosplayin’, though.. I’m Ally Sheedy. pic.twitter.com/fcWfse7ZZX

Worth it Joss. Proud of you, man.

role model for us all.

It appears the Twitter suspension did little if anything to change Whedon’s views at all. In fact, I’m actually surprised he was even suspended. Regardless, his initial Tweet is still disgusting. However, it does appear he has toned down the rhetoric significantly.
