Ant-Man and The Wasp Post-Credit Scene Explained!

Ant-Man and The Wasp

**Warning Spoilers for Ant-Man and The Wasp Below**

Thanos strikes again. Just when you thought Thanos’ death toll couldn’t get any higher, Marvel Studios decides to up the ante.

In the post-credit scene for Ant-Man and The Wasp, Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne, and Hope van Dyne have miniaturized their Quantum Realm teleporter and are using it to harvest quantum energy in order to heal Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost a.k.a. Ava Starr.

Ghost is afflicted with a condition where her molecules tear themselves apart and stitch themselves back together in a repetitive process. It allows her to phase through objects, but is also extremely painful. Janet van Dyne uses Qunatum energy to heal her, but it appears it’s not a permanent fix as they still need to harvest it.

In order to harvest it, they send Scott Lang through the Quantum teleporter and he uses a device to trap it. It works similar to the Ghostbusters’ device to trap ghosts.

However, just after Scott has entered the Quantum Realm and gathered the quantum energy, Thanos snapped his fingers. Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne, and Hope van Dyne all vanish into dust. All that is left of them is ashes. Scott Lang is trapped within the Quantum Realm with nobody to bring him back.

What’s really interesting is the fact the Quantum energy can be used to heal Ava. Could it be possible the quantum energy also has the power to restore those who have been snapped out of reality by Thanos? It’s unclear at this point, but that possibility is open.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is currently in theaters. The film stars Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Walton Goggins as Sunny Birch, Michael Peña as Luis, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost.
