Mike Miller Reveals the Blacklist Universe in Brand New Ad for His Upcoming Lonestar IndieGoGo!

Lone Star

Comic book artist extraordinaire Mike S. Miller who did exceptional work on DC Comics’ Injustice series and Batman: Arkham Unhinged as well as a number of books for Marvel including Iron Man, Wolverine, X-Factor, Incredible Hulk and more is launching his own superhero universe called Blacklist.

The first hero to debut in the universe will be Lone Star. He will be getting his very own graphic novel and Mike S. Miller recently revealed a pretty awesome ad giving us an idea of what we can expect from Lone Star.

We reached out to Mike get a better idea of what we can expect from Lone Star. MIke told us the story is set in the “modern day, but not TODAY, like a few years ago.” As for the character of Lone Star, Miller has created a unique twist on the Captain America, man out of time trope. Instead of the hero being frozen in time, Lone Star is actually “like a 90 year old man in a 30 year old body.”

As for the types of villains Lone Star will be facing, the main villains in this first series are vampires. But they aren’t any ordinary vampires. They are led by a “centuries old Russian vampire named Svarog.”

As for some of the other characters who will be joining Lone Star in the Blacklist universe, Mike says he has a ton of ideas and some of them he doesn’t even have drawings of them yet, but he’s been working on them for decades. However, he did tell us about one very unique hero named Super G. Mike described him as “Superman meets Winnie the Pooh.” Super G is actually the imaginary friend of a kid named Tanner!

Mike’s been posting some of the artwork on Twitter and it looks absolutely fantastic:

The IndieGoGo for Lone Star will go live at midnight Eastern Time tonight! That means it will be live at 9 PM PT tonight.

Mike’s art looks fantastic based on the ad, and he’s got some great ideas. I can’t wait to see this finished story!
