After a lengthy internal investigation, Chris Hardwick will return to “Talking Dead.

Hardwick was accused by his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra of sexual assault and extremely controlling behavior among other things.

Hardwick is expected to return to the show on August 12 when it returns to the air. However, a return date for Talking With Chris Hardwick has not been announced as the show wouldn’t be scheduled to return until next summer.

AMC did release a statement about Hardwick’s reinstatement on the Talking Dead:

“Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of Talking Dead and Talking With Chris Hardwick. We take these matters very seriously, and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.”

In his absence, Yvette Nicole Brown took over moderating several panels at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that were originally slated to have Chris Hardwick. She will continue as the host of the August 5, Walking Dead season nine preview and will be a guest for the premiere of Talking Dead on August 12.

Hardwick denied the claims made by Dykstra and even appeared to make available a number of text messages supporting his claims. His wife also released a statement in support of her husband.

Now this leaves all of us with an important question. What did AMC find that has given them enough confidence to bring Hardwick back after he was accused of sexual assault? Did they find evidence that could lead one to believe that Chloe Dykstra wanted to use the current #MeToo climate to her advantage?

It’s unlikely AMC would have brought back Hardwick unless they were almost one hundred percent sure they were in the clear. With today’s current environment any accusation could land not only a star but an entire network in hot water.

But I want to hear from you. Are you happy with the return of Chris Hardwick to the Talking Dead? And do you think this is the end of the story?
