Cat & Mouse Creator Roland Mann Shares His 13 Favorite Comic Book Covers!

Roland Mann

Roland Mann has had a lengthy career in the comic book industry as an editor, creator, and professor. He cut his teeth at Malibu Comics in the early 90s where he worked on their Ultraverse line of comics which included The All New Exiles, The Strangers, The Night Man, Prototype and more. Mann has also done work on Miss Fury and Planet of the Apes. But maybe his biggest claim to fame is his Cat & Mouse series published by Aircel Publishing.

Mann is actually working on a brand new Cat & Mouse series that he just recently completed a successful KickStarter for.

Given Mann’s extensive comic book work, we wanted to know what his favorite comic book covers are. Specifically covers that graced his work. Roland not only shared with us his favorite covers, but he also let us know why they are his favorites.

Enjoy!

1.  Cat & Mouse (Vol. 1) #1

Cover by Paul Gulacy with Paul Mounts

“While this wasn’t the first comic of mine to see print, it’s pretty close and it’s the notable one. When Malibu told us they were going to try to get a name talent to do the cover, we never expected they’d land Gulacy. To this day, I still contend it’s one of the primary reasons many people picked up that first issue.”

Cover by Paul Pelletier and Ken Branch

“I’ve always been a big fan of Paul’s work. I had to actually talk Paul into doing this one as he didn’t want to do it. I think the only reason he relented was because I practically begged him to do it. This is an homage cover based off of the cover to Avengers #141.”
