DC Comics Teams with Rooster Teeth for Anime Comic Book Adaptations of gen: LOCK and RWBY

DC Comics is partnering with Rooster Teeth to bring to comics two of Rooster’s Teeth original IPs, RWBY and gen:LOCK. Both series are expected to be available sometime in 2019.
The partnership makes sense given Rooster Teeth and DC Comics are both WarnerMedia companies.
gen:LOCK takes place in a dystopian future where the last free society is losing a global war. In order to turn the tide they recruit a “diverse team of young pilots to control the next generation of giant, weaponized robot bodies known as mecha.” However, their abilities come at cost. The show will star Michael B. Jordan, Dakota Fanning, Maisie Williams, Kōichi Yamadera, Golshifteh Farahani, Asia Kate Dillon and David Tennant.
The anime series is being produced by Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Productions alongside Rooster Teeth. It is scheduled to premiere on Rooster Teeth on January 26, 2019.
RWBY takes place in a fantasy realm where horrific wreak death and destruction everywhere they go. Humanity relies on Huntsmen and Huntresses to keep these monsters at bay. The series follow four trainees Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long who train at the Beacon Academy. These four young huntresses in training might be powerful on their own, but they will have to work together in order to fight the dark forces they will face as their journeys will take them far from school.
RWBY will see its sixth volume premiere on October 27th. The anime was created by Monty Oum and has already been adapted into manga, mobile and card games, clothing lines, figurines, statues, plushies, an upcoming young adult novel series, and more.
