Zack Snyder Hints at What His Grim Plans for Batman Would Have Been!

Zack Snyder had a lot of plans for the DC Cinematic Universe that are now coming to light. What came to fruition in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the death of Superman, in particular, met with a polarized reaction. And it doesn’t end there.

Things Snyder had in mind we never got to see are pretty shocking too. One idea Snyder recently admitted to if he would have continued to direct more Justice League movies was — as Joker put it — kill the Batman!

Snyder replied to a fan who imagined Superman carrying a dead Batman in an arms. The fan had hinted that this image would have shown up in Snyder’s version of events in the future. Snyder affirmed the idea by simply responding: “Of course.” He hoped to pull this off after a five-movie arc — more than the previous trilogy fans thought he might do — according to Cinema Blend.

Batman’s end more than likely would have come in an epic battle against Darkseid along with the rest of the Justice League. Snyder, of course, recently teased we would have seen Darkseid at some point, possibly at the end of Justice League, had he remained attached to the project.

While it might come across as trite, it brings the dramatic narrative between Batman and Superman started in Batman v. Superman full circle. And, moreover, Snyder is, in fact, channeling the comics here; Darkseid “killing” Batman is nothing new. Grant Morrison flirted with the presumption of Batman’s death — by Darkseid, no less — at the end of [easyazon_link identifier=”1401285031″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Final Crisis[/easyazon_link].

It turned out the Omega Beams merely sent Batman back in time and they didn’t really kill off DC’s most popular character.

Snyder’s other plans included upping the power level of Cyborg and making him a more central character with a deeper arc. Aquaman’s story would have been explored more as well. Where else he would have gone is anybody’s guess (until the next time he personally confirms some speculation online anyway).
