Gonzalez was heavily rumored to become Catwoman last October when there was a much higher chance that director David Ayer’s Suicide Squad spin-off Gotham City Sirens might have moved into production. However, it appears Warner Bros. and DC Films went in another direction with the Harley Quinn-centric Birds of Prey film.

However, that’s not stopping Gonzalez from teasing what fans are missing out on with her as Catwoman.

While it doesn’t appear Warner Bros. is making any moves to cast a Catwoman any time soon, Gonzalez is busy working in multiple other comic book and manga based universes.

Gonzalez will appear in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Battle Angel Alita, Alita: Battle Angel. She will play Nyssiana.

Gonzalez is also working on the upcoming live-action adaptation of Valiant’s Bloodshot alongside Vin Diesel and Sam Heughan. They’ve been currently filming Bloodshot in Africa, and Gonzalez has posted some stunning photos of her time there.

Gonzalez also recently joined the cast for Godzilla vs. Kong as well as the upcoming thriller Waldo starring Charlie Hunnam and Mel Gibson.

Needless to say she’s going to be rather busy. Maybe she and Warner Bros. will find some time to squeeze in Catwoman. It’s possible Catwoman could make a cameo in Birds of Prey or even Matt Reeves’ The Batman. It would definitely make sense for Catwoman to show up at the end of Birds of Prey or even as a post-credits scene to tease a sequel. It’s possible she could even be the sequel film’s main antagonist.

Do you think Gonzalez would make a great Catwoman?
