Erik Killmonger, played by Michael B. Jordan, is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s greatest villains. It’s not just that Jordan’s performance is great, which it is, it’s that Killmonger is actually a well-motivated villain.
Black Panther is much more comparable to the likes of Batman Begins and the Lord of the Rings films. The film, above all else, teaches that greed and lust for power lead only to hatred and death. While the villains have clear motivations, there is a clear divide between good and evil.
