Nancy Drew #2 squelched the hopes of a better issue than the first like a foot planted onto a plump caterpillar. Kelly Thompson’s Nancy Drew story was only marginally better than its predecessor, but also worse in several aspects.
Dynamite Comics collects issues #0 – 5 of Ash vs The Army of Darkness in one collection for our reading pleasure. By the way, it’s really good!

Vampirella: Roses of the Dead #1 is not a terrible first issue, but certainly not great either. It has the unfortunate distinction of hovering right there in the “OK” region of comics that run the risk of being forgotten too quickly.

If you’re looking for a fun story to jump into, Turok #1 is a great start. The story feels a little out of place, but the pacing is very well managed.
