Assassin’s Creed Syndicate E3 Trailers

Ubisoft has unveiled two trailers showcasing their twin protagonists in [easyazon_link identifier=”B00X87MH0I” locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Assassin’s Creed Syndicate[/easyazon_link].

The first, features Evie Frye as she works her way through a factory using a number of assassination techniques from distracting an unsuspecting guard with a quick whistle to using her hidden blade to slice open her target’s neck. The coolest point of the trailer comes when Evie unveils her cane-sword. She rips through three enemies parrying their blows and countering with effective precision.

The second trailer focuses on Evie’s brother Jacob. Jacob is the leader of a gang called The Rooks. He combats the ever-present threat of the Templars as they attempt to exploit an orphanage and turn the children into slave labor for their factory.

In order to put a stop to their machinations, Jacob hunts down the primary Templar in a high speed horse and buggy chase (it’s actually a lot cooler than it sounds) that debuts new gadgets and technology. He even finds himself on top of a speeding train at one point.

The most interesting cut-scene takes place in a local pub when Jacob attempts to recruit a rival gang into his own. It turns into a big bar brawl where Jacob’s hand-to-hand combat skills are on full display. The only downside is he keeps removing his awesome top-hat when he fights!

Speaking of the sweet top hat, I’ve heard grumblings that the turn of the century or Industrial Revolution era settings are getting old. I beg to differ. I absolutely love the aesthetic, style, and feeling of the world UbiSoft is creating with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. It reminds me a lot of the Netflix show Peaky Blinders and who doesn’t want more fantastic mustaches, stylish hats, and sharp looking suits. The folks had swagger and style back then.
