We just got sent a pretty awesome trailer for a new comic coming out from Source Point Press called Iktomi.

The story is about Jack Freeman, a white man turned Lakota shaman who battles against evil forces from a parallel dimension called Xibalba. But the story seems to be a little deeper than a straight up battle. The dimension that Jack Freeman inhabits is filled with its own dangers during post-Civil War America including Blue Coats, Road-Agents, and horrendous dreadful creatures from Native American Mythology. The fate of humanity lies in the hands of Jack Freeman and Medicine Eagle, a Lakota Holy Man, as well as their “doubles” in Xibalba.

Despite the seemingly crazy plot description, the trailer looks very grounded. It even has a pretty intriguing tag line, “Only Evil Can Conquer Evil.” If you are looking to fill that Western itch and maybe put in a dark fantasy twist this book might just be right up your alley.

Iktomi is written by Leonardo Masetti and co-created by Pier Paolo Piccoli. Ryan Gutierrez supplies the artwork and Joseba Morales is the letterer.
