Could We See The X-Men Working with The Avengers on the Big Screen?

Members of two titan superhero teams might be coming to a screen near you! It has been rumored that 20th Century Fox is mulling over a deal with Marvel Studios to bring together some of Marvel Comics most iconic characters.

The internment began to speculate after Matt Key, a producer on Kevin Smith’s Fatman On Batman podcast, told Collider Heroes, “I’ve heard from a few of my sources, my little birds that Fox and Marvel have … kind of talked, but not really, but like there’s interest from Fox, like, ‘Ooh, y’know, what they did with Sony and Spider-Man is actually pretty cool, like, maybe …’”

Now before you start lighting candles to see Wolverine, Psylocke, and Deadpool shooting the breeze at a bar, this supposed deal is far from set in stone.  “We’re years away from that ever possibly happening,” Matt Key added, “But I think that’s what it would take … Fox joining hands with Marvel.”

With Spider-Man’s debut in Captain America: Civil War a new light of hope was lit  that Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox can piece together a deal that can see members of the X-Men, mix it up with the Avengers. Even though there is some hope, it’s unlikely that Fox will want to lose too much control over the X-Men. Mainly because it has brought in over 4.3 billion dollars for the studio to date. Deadpool is also a pretty hot piece of real estate, and Fox might want to hold on to it without sharing if they continue to see success with a possible franchise featuring the title character.

What we could see though is Fox work with Marvel to bring in The Fantastic Four into their Cinematic Universe since Fox has twice failed to make any positive headway with the iconic team. Either way, the discussions are at the very least a positive step in the right direction.

As Marvel continues down phase two of their cinematic universe and Fox continues to release their movies it will take not only time, but good planing to make any merge possible. What do you think, who from Fox would you like to see enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
