First Look: 4001 A.D.: War Mother #1

We are getting our first look at Valiant’s previously top-secret 4001 A.D. one-shot, 4001 A.D.: War Mother #1.
After making a brief cameo appearance in Valiant’s Book of Death event series, War Mother will make her first debut this August.
Writer Fred Van Lente and first-time Valiant interior artist Tomás Giorello will guide War Mother’s debut as she is forced out of her tribe she was born to protect and onto the front lines of the Valiant Universe.
As battle wages in the sky above Earth on New Japan, Father has begun jettisoning pieces of New Japan sending it crashing down to Earth. War Mother along with her newly born sentient sniper rifle is tasked with salvaging this fallen debris.
However, as War Mother begins salvaging Sector 8146 she will uncover a secret about Earth’s true order that will send her on a collision course against her community, her code, and her calling. It will bring destruction down upon one of humanity’s last surviving outposts of order.
4001 A.D.: War Mother #1 will feature covers from David Mack, Jelena Kevic Djurdjevic, Cary Nord, Andres Guinaldo, and Ryan Lee. It hits comic book shelves on August 3rd.
