Peter Parker, the one-and-only Spider-Man will return to his friendly neighborhood in a brand new ongoing from creators Chip Zdarsky and artist Adam Kubert.

Zdarsky and Kubert aim to take Peter Parker back-to-basics with a new series that will be bursting at the seams with heart, humor, and over-the-top action! Peter Parker will swing between giant skyscrapers, square off against his iconic rogues gallery, and still manage to be late for the date he had planned. The series will be a companion to Amazing Spider-Man.

“With [Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man] we’re using the same Spider-Man continuity, but shifting the spotlight back to his NYC environment and supporting cast,” says series writer Chip Zdarsky speaking with Entertainment Weekly. “But even though we’re pushing to make it a more personal book, we’re still going to have big adventures with ramifications that’ll be felt in other books. If I had a true mission statement for the book it would be: ‘Have fun, have heart, have stakes.’”

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #1 will hit comic book shelves in June, but you will be able to get a taste of this new series on Free Comic Book Day (May 6th) as Chip Zdarsky teams with Paulo Siqueira for a 10 page story.
