If the new still photos from a few days ago wasn’t enough to excite prospective viewers. Twentieth Century Fox just released a new Alien: Covenant poster.  If you’re a long-time fan of the franchise the immediate impression you get is the similarities of this poster to posters of previous Alien films. It seems that the studio is trying its best to highlight the importance of  Alien: Covenant’s connection to the original trilogy.

Take a look at the poster and get ready to run and hide because the Aliens show no mercy.

Alien: Covenant is directed by Ridely Scott, the director of the original Alien film starring Sigourney Weaver. Alien: Covenant is the sequel to Prometheus and is the second installment of the Alien prequel trilogy. It is expected that there will be a direct connection between this film and Prometheus, but the extent of that connection has not been revealed. Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Callie Hernandez, Benjamin Rigby, Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett,  Nathaniel Dean, and Alexander England.

The film is slated to be released on May 19, 2017.
