Hellboy Reboot Finds Their Villainess In Milla Jovovich!

The Hellboy reboot has found their villainess in Milla Jovovich.

Deadline reports that “Milla Jovovich is in final talks to join the Marshall-directed reboot of Hellboy.”

Jovovich joins director Neil Marshall, Stranger Things’ David Harbour, who plays the red-skinned Hellboy, and Ian McShane, who takes on the role of Professor Broom, Hellboy’s mentor and father figure.

It is believed that Jovovich will take on the role of the Blood Queen. However, who she will be playing was not mentioned in Deadline’s report.

Jovovich recently wrapped up work as Alice in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and she has a bevy of fantasy and sci-fi experience starring in a plethora of Resident Evil films, The Fifth Element, and Ultraviolet.

The new Hellboy movie will be written by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden, and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. Aron Coleite is currently working on the latest draft.

Director Neil Marshall expects Hellboy to have an “R” rating. Marshall has plenty of experience directing a number of Game of Thrones episodes as well as just finishing up directing the pilot episode of Netlix’s Lost in Space. He’s also worked on Descent, Centurion, and Dog Soldiers.

He does have a lot to live up to. Guillermo del Toro, who directed Hellboy and Hellboy: The Golden Army, along with the original Hellboy actor Ron Perlman left a lasting legacy. I’m not sure there is a greater fight scene than the one between Hellboy and Prince Nuada.

Are you excited for the upcoming Hellboy boot? Do you approve of Milla Jovovich’s casting?
