Ryan Reynolds “Heartbroken” After Death Of Deadpool 2 Stuntman

Following the death of amateur motorcyclist and stuntman Joi “SJ” Harris on the set of Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds issued a heartfelt statement.

Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool. We’re heartbroken, shocked and devastated… but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them — along with each and every person she touched in this world.

Joi “SJ” Harris was the first African-American licensed female in professional motorcycle road racing according to TMZ.

She tragically died following an accident while filming a stunt on the set of Deadpool 2 in Vancouver. She reportedly lost control of her motorcycle, went airborne, and drove through a glass window. Eyewitnesses reported she never applied the brakes and was not wearing a helmet.

Deadpool 2 was her first stunt gig and she seemed full of life weeks before the accident. She recently recovered from a wrist injury in July.

Just last month she won first place at a motorcycle competition.

To Mr. Kevin Elliott and THE ENTIRE AMAZING CREW of the Championship Cup Series & American Sportbike Racing Association…
