Arnold Schwarzenegger Gets Deadpool Director for Terminator 6!

Terminator 6 officially has its director, but the announcement wasn’t filled with many bells and whistles.

The confirmation came via Skydance Media’s Facebook page. It was promoting ” Terminator: A conversation with James Cameron and Tim Miller.”  Take a look at the post here.

This isn’t a huge surprise at all. Rumors and reports have been flying around about Miller’s role in the movie. What is a bit unusual is how low key the confirmation was.

Along with Tim Miller’s announcement as director, Terminator 6 is expected to begin production next March.

Director Tim Miller is best known for directing the smash hit Deadpool back in 2016.

Tim Miller isn’t the only major player attached to the film. Terminator 6 will see the return of both Arnold Schwarzenegger as well as James Cameron to the franchise. This will be the first time since Terminator 2: Judgement Day, that Cameron has taken an active role in the franchise. Cameron for his part has a lot to say about the direction of the film. Cameron spoke to The Daily Beast at the beginning of the year:

It’s easy to remember fondly the things that kick off a franchise. It’s hard to keep a franchise vigorous, and relevant. … I haven’t had my hand on the tiller since Terminator 2, and that was 1991. So what’s that? Twenty-six years? But look, I think it’s possible to tell a great Terminator story now, and it’s relevant. We live in a digital age, and Terminator ultimately, if you can slow it down, is about our relationship with our own technology, and how our technology can reflect back to us—and in the movie, literally, in a human form that is a nemesis and a threat.

Now it’s official. Terminator 6 has an amazing director in Tim Miller. Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role and finally, legendary producer James Cameron returns to the franchise he created.

I’m very excited at the prospects of this film and am looking forward to following its production closely! What do you think? Is Tim Miller a good choice as the director? Let us know in the poll!
