John Wick: Chapter Three Release Date Announced

May 17th, 2019, save the date. That’s the date John Wick: Chapter Three will be released by Lionsgate. The Hollywood Reporter revealed the release date. But no other information about the plot has yet to come out.
Keanu Reeves will return to reprise his role as the hitman for the third chapter. Director Chad Stahelski told Collider that they were already writing the next installment back in May. “Yeah — we’re currently in the middle of writing it right now.”
In John Wick: Chapter Two, we saw John Wick on the run with a massive bounty on his head and a legion of hitmen looking to cash in on it. It did very well in theaters after it was released on February 10, 2017. It grossed over $171 million worldwide which is almost a hundred million more than the original film.
This new release date will put John Wick: Chapter Three right at the beginning of the summer blockbuster season which is quite different from the first movie’s October 24 date and the second movie’s release this past February. This could be a real test for the franchise as it will potentially go up against Marvel Studios’ fourth Avengers film as well as Disney’s live action Aladdin movie. John Wick: Chapter Three will have some stiff competition when it’s released.
