A Fan Made An Action Figure Version of the X-Men: The Animated Series Intro and it is FANTASTIC!!!

X-Men Action Figures

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of X-Men: The Animated Series, we went into the vault to discover a fantastic fan-made stop-action recreation of one of the best television show intros ever.

In 2012, X-Men fans Kyle Roberts, Nathan Poppe, and Alex Harris and Reckless Abandonment Pictures teamed-up to recreate the classic X-Men: The Animated Series intro with action figures.

Kyle and his team spent hours on this project and took over 4,000 individual pictures. In fact, Kyle “Spent two months rotoscoping and animating all of the special effects.”

Art Director Nathan Poppe “drew over 60 background images used in this project with his “doodle” style rad artwork. Colin Nance and Zach Zellar recreated the original theme from scratch.”

You can tell how much passion went into this project because the final product is a beauty. Take a look:

X-Men: The Animated Series was a 1990s cartoon that first aired on October 31, 1992 on Fox during Fox Kids Saturday. The show featured X-Men mainstays Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Professor X, and Morph, who was an original character for the show. The show adapted a number of storylines from the comics including Days of Future Past, Welcome to Genosha, and the Dark Phoenix Sag among others.

The original instrumental theme was written by Ron Wasserman and ran through the first four seasons of the show. It wasn’t until Season 5 when the beginning of the theme was slightly changed.

Here’s the original intro to compare with the stop-action above:

You can tell they did an almost exact scene for scene shot!

This isn’t the only stop-action video Roberts and his team have created. He’s got over 35 Stop-Motion videos that range from Batman: The Animated Series with Legos to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles intro from the animated show in 1987.

Share with your friends and family and let them enjoy this awesome fan-made creation!
