Hellboy Actor Jeffrey Tambor Latest Accused of Sexual Harassment

Hellboy actor Jeffrey Tambor officially left the Amazon television series Transparent after two sexual harassment allegations from members of the Transparent team surfaced against him.
Tambor strongly denies the accusations and issued a statement to Deadline about his experiences on Transparent.
Playing Maura Pfefferman on Transparent has been one of the greatest privileges and creative experiences of my life. What has become clear over the past weeks, however, is that this is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago.
I’ve already made clear my deep regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue. Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don’t see how I can return to Transparent.
The Golden Globe winning actor was first accused by his former assistant and transgender actress actress Van Barnes. Then Trace Lysette accused Tambor of making “lewd, sexual, and unwelcomed remarks to her repeatedly while they worked together.” Lysette even said Tambor got “physical” with her on one occasion. Both Van Barnes and Trace Lysette found support from Transparent writer and producer Our Lady J. The writer said, “we cannot let trans content be taken down by a single cis man.”
Amazon is currently investigating both allegations made by Van Barnes and Trace Lysette. This includes speaking to the creator Jill Soloway as well as the production team.
Currently, the Amazon based show is still to yet be renewed for a fifth season. Since Jeffrey Tambor has left the show, it’s unlikely we’ll see a House of Cards scenario where the plug is just pulled. Jeffrey Tambor for his part isn’t pulling punches against those that are accusing him of misconduct. As you see in his statement he points the finger squarely at a “politicized atmosphere.”
It seems now that every day we see another actor get accused of sexual misconduct. Since Harvey Winestein, the dam has broken and it seems that the flood of bad behavior is still flowing strong. There is no telling how far and how long this trend will continue with more and more actors, directors, and producers getting caught up in sandals. It’s likely we’ve haven’t seen the peak of this yet.
