Margot Robbie revealed to MTV that she is working on Harley Quinn solo project.

Robbie confirmed she is going to produce the next incarnation of Harley Quinn on the big screen. She confirmed she’s been working on the new Harley project for nearly two years! Asked if this new incarnation will be part of Gotham City Sirens, the Suicide Squad Sequel, or the rumored Joker and Harley film, Robbie revealed this new project is completely different from all three. “No it’s a totally separate one.”

However, she did say she’s not sure which of those projects will hit the big screen first. “There’s a lot going on right now and I’m not sure. Honestly, I don’t think anyone knows what going to be the next thing to happen, but I think everyone is keen to get Harley back on screen. So everyone’s working on lots of different versions of what that could be.”

Robbie then said she wanted to see Harley Quinn with other women. “I want to see her with other women. I kept saying when we were shooting Suicide Squad, she needs her girlfriends. She needs other girls around her because she loves that. You see it in the comics. She loves meeting people, any people. She needs her girl gang.”

One thing is for sure, DC Comics and Warner Bros. really liked what they saw with Robbie’s Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. They are putting a lot of chips behind her and the character and betting big time as Robbie is now looking to appear as Harley Quinn in at least four planned movies including this new Harley Quinn solo film, the Suicide Squad sequel, Gotham City Sirens, and the rumored Joker and Harley Quinn movie.

However, as Robbie mentions in the interview, she wants to be surrounded by her girls. Could this new Harley Quinn solo film replace Gotham City Sirens. Will Harley take the main stage with Catwoman and Poison Ivy potentially being side characters if they appear in the movie? Or will Catwoman and Poison Ivy be dropped altogether and they bring in Harley’s own gang of criminals to sow chaos throughout Gotham.

What are you looking to in this newly announced Harley Quinn solo film?
