Rapper and R&B icon Snoop Dogg is taking on the #BlackPantherChallenge. Following in the footsteps of New York resident Frederick Joseph, Snoop Dogg will be donating money to help kids in Harlem go see the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther directed by Ryan Coogler.

Snoop Dogg took to Twitter to promote the effort to raise money to help these kids see the movie. Not only will Snoop Dogg help raise money for the kids in Harlem, he also plans on reaching out to director Ryan Coogler to set up a Los Angeles version.

“Yo, shout out to Fredrick Joseph out there in Harlem with that GoFundMe project to get the kids to go see Panther, the new movie by Ryan Coogler. I’m going to donate some money to the cause for the kids and go check it out. And also I’m going to reach out to my homeboy, Ryan Coogler, so we can get an LA version of that so the kids in LA can go see this superhero movie and learn about a real black superhero. Shout to my main in Harlem doing big things.”

Frederick Joseph’s original GoFundMe has currently raised $42,416 dollars from 1,297 people in just over two weeks.

The description of his fundraising effort reads:

“The release of Marvel’s film the “Black Panther” is a rare opportunity for young students (primarily of color) to see a black major cinematic and comic book character come to life. This representation is truly fundamental for young people, especially those who are often underserved, unprivileged, and marginalized both nationally and globally.”

All proceeds for the GoFundMe go to the Harlem Boys & Girls Club. The donations “will go to paying for the private screening tickets for children and chaperones, as well as refreshments.” The private screenings are expected to take place between February 19 and February 22.

Black Panther comes to theaters everywhere on February 16, 2018. The film stars Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Andy Serkis as Klaw, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Sterling K. Brown as N’Jobu, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Forest Whitaker as Zuri, and Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross.
