WATCH: Solo: A Star Wars Story Drops Super Bowl Teaser!

Chewie and Han Solo

Solo: A Star Wars Story dropped their first footage from the upcoming Star Wars film during the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Super Bowl ad teased a trailer release tomorrow.

Watch:

The trailer starts off with what appears to be Han Solo joining up with the Empire to become the best pilot in the galaxy. Surprisingly, when you hear what appears to be Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo say, “I’m going to be a pilot, the best in the galaxy,” it sounds very similar to Harrison Ford’s classic take on the scruffy nerf herder.

There’s a small action sequence with some kind of land speeder as he blasts past Stormtroopers. We then get a brief glimpse at the Corellian YT-1300f light freighter known as the Millennium Falcon!

There’s then a shot of Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra and a new droid. Then there’s some kind of awesome-looking transport vehicle operating in the snow. We then get a shot of Woody Harrelson’s Tobias Beckett.

As with most Star Wars movies there looks to be a casino scene. This one has some kind of dancer/singer dressed in gold.

There is then an action scene. It’s hard to tell who is actually involved. One of the combatants appears to be some kind of droid. It has some similarities to General Grievous. I believe the other person is Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian, but it’s really hard to tell. It could be Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo.

Immediately following this scene we do get a shot of Glover’s Lando. We then see the Falcon flying through space and we finally get a good look at the younger Han Solo.

The ad finally ends by telling us there will be a full trailer debuting tomorrow.

It also debunks a lot of the speculation surrounding the release date. It confirms the film will debut on Memorial Day weekend, May 25, 2018.
