Ryan Reynolds Drops HILARIOUS Deadpool Teaser That Throws Shade at Justice League!

Deadpool

Man, this is surely becoming the week of Deadpool. It started off with the Superbowl live tweeting on Sunday. Then we got a hilarious Flashdance inspired poster. I couldn’t imagine anything else happening this week. But thankfully I was wrong. Early this morning Untitled Deadpool Sequel star Ryan Reynolds dropped a hilarious teaser via Twitter.

Check it out here!

Running a little more than two minutes, the teaser is chalk full of new footage and even a great poke at the Justice League movie. The teaser starts out as you’d expect an action movie too. Cable has a monologue about pain, and people really not knowing what “real” pain is. He paints a pretty grim view of the future. It’s very dystopian in nature, just as you’d expect from familiar X-Men comic book arcs. While Josh Brolin Cable’s monologue continues we get plenty of action shots and close-ups of Cable’s gun.

About 30 seconds into the trailer, is when the hysterical Deadpool shows up. Cable walks out of a doorway, but his iconic metal arm is missing! Brolin just has a green sleeve on. They forgot the CGI for the trailer! At this point, Deadpool stops the trailer and starts to yell at Dale, who I assume is a crew member. In this exchange, Deadpool comments “It’s a metal arm, it’s not like we are trying to remove a mustache.” It’s a clear diss at Justice League’s inability to remove Henry Cavill’s mustache in the opening Superman scene. If you remember, Cavill was obligated to keep the mustache for his upcoming role in the new Mission Impossible film while they did reshoots for Justice League. In the final cut of the film, Superman had a strange looking upper lip.

Frustrated, Deadpool comments that he’ll do it himself. Your hear a bunch of machinery work, but the next time we see Cable is in action figure form!  Deadpool mocks Cable for a little bit, until he brings in his own Deadpool action figure who is dressed up as Woody from Toy Story! He even says Woody’s iconic line, “Reach for the sky!” But the laughs don’t start there. Deadpool says, I’ve got the stones to help you,” before he launches the Deadpool action figure at Cable. He hits the Cable action figure right in the face, before lobbying a final insult at Cable, “No biting!

Then an alarm goes off and it appears they quickly fixed Cable’s CGI arm problem. It cuts back to the scene with Cable and his metal arm as he takes on a number of armed men with ease. The trailer then picks up steam with a montage of action shots. Deadpool superman punches a bad guy, Domino throws a sharp elbow right to a guy’s head in a facility that has a poster reading, “Purity Humanity Infinity.” It definitely looks like mutants are on the outs in this timeline. The action shots continue with Negasonic Teenage Warhead powering up, Deadpool without his costume gives someone a gut punch with a frying pan, and then he blocks a shotgun blast with it as well.

The montage continues with more action shots, Cable leaps over a vehicular train vehicle. Deadpool appears to be in prison at one point. And then the final shot show Cable and Deadpool finally coming face to face. Cable tells Deadpool his time is up to which Deadpool responds, “Well, that’s just lazy writing.”

This was a great way to wake up on a Wednesday that’s for sure.

The Untitled Deadpool Sequel stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Josh Brolin as Cable, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Stefan Kapičić as Colossus. It will hit theaters May 18th.
