Warner Bros. just dropped their latest Ready Player One trailer and the internet has gone crazy!
Watch the trailer:
The trailer titled “Come With Me” takes us back to the Oasis to a world of pure imagination. The trailer relies on nostalgia with appearances by the Iron Giant, A giant T-Rex, King Kong, Halo, and more. Along with the heavy reliance on nostalgia, it depicts a young man who finds himself in the middle of a rebellion for control of the Oasis. What happens in the Oasis doesn’t stay in the Oasis and there appear to be real world consequences for those who cross a menacing police force.
Ben Mendelsohn’s character Nolan Sorrento makes it abundantly clear, “This is war for the control of the future.”
The latest trailer had mixed responses. Many were super hyped based on the latest trailer:
I get more and more hyped about Ready Player One with every new trailer that’s released ?

Ready player one looks dope af. Like everything a nerd would want out of a movie.

However, others were not so enthused at all. Many want the film to fail.
Can't wait to see you fail.

I'm tired of watching trailers of Ready Player One.
First, they already showed too much, there was no need, there won't me any more surprises left for the movie
And Second, the movies doesn't look good.
Shame.

I’m as big a Spielberg evangelist as you’re ever likely to meet, but I’m increasingly worried READY PLAYER ONE will be his first bad movie in a decade.

Others didn’t like how certain characters were being portrayed. More specifically they were not happy about the way the Iron Giant is portrayed.
im irrationally upset that the iron giants being used to fight ppl in ready player one, like the entire point of the character is that it chose to be nonviolent 🙁

As someone else already pointed out Ready Player One turned the Iron Giant back into a weapon which is the exact opposite of what that movie was all about.
It's really sickening because that movie was something of a masterpiece.— ?Scary?Murphy? (@ComradeFrobi) February 15, 2018
Some fans were massively conflicted. They were not happy about the huge reliance on nostalgia, but when they saw something they loved, it completely changed their mind!
*watching a trailer for Ready Player One*
'look at this garbage, this trash, this pandering nonsen-'
*sees a Gundam for 2 frames*
'beautiful, a masterpiece, 10 out of 10'

ready player one is literally just 2% plot and 98% nostalgia. i'll see yall at the midnight premiere.

Many who read the book have been completely turned off by the adaptation.
You'd think, as a child of the 80's (McQuaid HS class of '88), I'd be excited for Ready Player One but the book left me gagging on its fetishized nostalgia.
— Christopher Bieszad (@CBieszad) February 15, 2018
READY PLAYER ONE is such a rancid novel that I feel the only good adaptation is one that’s openly hostile towards its source material a la STARSHIP TROOPERS. I’m just not convinced that’s the movie Spielberg is making.
— David Daut (@DavidMDaut) February 15, 2018
Ready Player One is directed by Steven Spielberg with a screenplay by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline. The film stars Black Panther’s Letitia Wright as Reb, Ant-Man and the Wasp’s Hannah John-Kamen, Ben Mendelsohn, Simon Pegg, Deadpool’s T.J. Miller, X-Men: Dark Phoenix’s Tye Sheridan, and more.
Ready Player One comes to theaters on March 29, 2018.
