Mega movie star Chris Pratt, who stars as Star-Lord in Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy and Owen Grady in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, tweeted out he was praying for Kevin Smith, who recently suffered a near life-ending heart attack last night.
Pratt tweeted, “Kevin we don’t know each other too good but I have loved you since Clerks and I’m praying my ass off for you cause I believe in the healing power of prayer. Can you please pray with me people!?”

The Tweet drew out the worst of the internet who began attacking Chris Pratt and his faith.
WTF is praying going to do? Wise up! He’s in hospital, science is the best place for him, diet change and exercise. Not random thoughts by you or anyone else!

I’m not sure what is sadder ? My hero Kevin smith having a heart attack or the fact that Chris pratt believes in magic fairy tales in 2018.

Healing power of prayer? This is a parody right?

Great now I won't enjoy your films as much knowing you're a Jesus nut

Why did God make a malaria virus that is transmitted to poor people who already has a hard time trying to make a living? Why are most of the deadly diseases in high religion countries, and nor for example in Sweden which has over 80% non believers?

That's cool and everything but Doctors and nurses save lives not prayer.

If paying works, I wish someone would pray for world peace or to stop mass murders. Maybe another day
— Johnny Boyle (@JohnnyBoyle11) February 26, 2018
no. a doctor saved him. not a spaggetti monster
— Gary P (@Garypercival8) February 26, 2018
No!!! Please tell me you are being sarcastic! I don't want Chris Pratt to be a god botherer.
— alicejac (@alicejac) February 26, 2018
You're IN Jurassic World. How could you believe in a God?
— ? M A X ? (@maxtastrophe) February 26, 2018
Pratt don’t do this to me
If that worked we’d have world peace, no murders, sustainable energy, etc.
Ur prayers are just drifting thoughts that people hold on a pedestal
Anyways have a great day!— Mr.spider336 (@MrSpider336) February 26, 2018
Pratt didn’t seem bothered by the attacks and doubled down that he would continue to pray for Kevin Smith tweeting, “Praying for you. I will continue to. You inspired me with Clerks when I was a senior HS. I’m tagging my Lb/rb football coach who showed me the movie cause he believed in me and knew I’d be inspired.”

The power of prayer does and will work!!! I believe with you for a full and speedy recovery. I had a friend last year who went through the same thing and is fine now…POWER OF PRAYER
— Joe Ray (@teamstingray69) February 26, 2018
Praying with y’all this morning. God, be with the doctors and staff and bring healing to Kevin. Bring him and his family the peace that you give.

Some even revealed their own stories and miracles they witnessed through the power of prayer.
As a Reg'd nurse that works in critical care- I believe in the power of prayer- I have seen it! Praying my butt off for @ThatKevinSmith

Speaking from my own experience, I was diagnosed with ovarian and uterine cancer last year. All tests and imaging confirmed 3 9-11 cm tumours. I had thousands praying for me. When the surgeons opened me up, all they found was a single 9 cm fibroid.

In fact, my ovaries were perfectly clear and normal, despite being covered in numerous painful cysts for years. The doctors told us there was so medical explanation for what they found (or didn’t find).

It’s a sad state in our society when people like Chris Pratt who openly announce they are praying for someone who just suffered a near-death heart attack are ridiculed and attacked for believing in God and the power of prayer. The free exercise of religion is one of our founding principles. It’s clearly stated in the First Amendment to the Constitution, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” Our country was founded by people who were fleeing religious persecution. We need to honor the tradition of religious freedom and respect people’s extremely personal beliefs. It’s one of our core traditions that truly makes America Great.
