Luke Cage Season 2 Release Date Announced Along With Promo Video

Luke Cage

Netflix and Marvel released a 26-second promo announcing the release date for Luke Cage Season 2. The second season will hit Netflix on June 22, 2018.

In the promo, Luke Cage gives folks a brief overview of exactly what his abilities are. “Yo, I’m Luke Cage. You can’t burn me. You can’t blast me. And you definitely can’t break me. You want to test me? Step up. I’m right here.”

Along with the release date and teaser promo, they also released a brief synopsis of the second season:

“After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.”

This actually sounds quite similar to the first season where Luke Cage began protecting the streets of Harlem against the villainous gangster Cottonmouth and his boss Diamondback. It would push Luke Cage to the limit and also show that he did have a weakness to bullets enhanced with alien technology.

Mike Colter returns as Luke Cage for Season 2. He will be joined by Simone Missick as Misty Knight, who will get her bionic arm, Theo Rossi as Hernan ‘Shades’ Alvarez, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. They will be joined by Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis.
