Tommy Wiseau Unveils Joker Audition Tape

Tommy Wiseau Joker

Tommy Wiseau, the creator of The Room, teamed up with Nerdist to put out a Joker audition tape. As you can see above, Wiseau dresses up in Heath Ledger’s The Dark Knight’s Joker outfit in his audition.

It’s an extremely strange audition which begins with Wiseau simply screaming at the camera for what feels like forever. He then begins reciting classic Joker lines including, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stranger,” and “It’s simple. We kill the Batman.” His take on Jack Nicholson’s classic line, “You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight.” Wiseau screams, “Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight.” He adds,” Did you? No, but I did. And I did like the Devil.” I couldn’t stop laughing at that.

One of the more stranger parts of the audition is when he begins trying different ways to say, “Why so serious.” He starts off being almost quizzical before just shouting it at the camera.

However, the audition gets really bizarre when Batman actually shows up. He begins shouting, “Why should I kill you?” over and over.

There’s definitely some funny parts to the video, but it came off as more bizarre and strange than anything and seeing Wiseau shout at the camera over and over does get a little tiresome by the end of the video.

If any of the casting directors, directors, or executives at Warner Bros. saw this , they might have gotten a good laugh, but will probably pass on Wiseau ever becoming the Joker. Unless maybe they want to do a Batman parody with an over the top Joker who shouts all the time. I don’t see that happening any time soon though.

Do you think Wisea would make a good Joker? What do you make of his audition?
