As a man who loves his facial hair, I know all too well the pain of picking up that razor and sending a close friend to the grave.

Henry Cavill’s Mustache has been the center of both awe and controversy thanks to the CGI work in Justice League. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool even took the gag to the next level when he made fun of Justice League’s CGI in a Deadpool 2 teaser last month.

Henry Cavill might have just taken the gag to the next level when he took to Facebook and Instagram to shave off his majestic mustache.  He posted the video to pay tribute to his late friend and fallen comrade.

Check out the video below!

In the video, we see Henry in a white bathrobe telling us that “King Stache” is gone. On the post, he also left a hashtag #ShavedButNotForgotten.

“I know, it’s hard to recognize me without King Stache, Cavill says to us. He then turns towards the mirror and continues, Sometimes I have a hard time recognizing myself.

Cavill continues and he delivers the money line, “It’s hard to for me to admit, this is not CGI. From there the video goes on to play Sarah McLachlan’s “I Will Remember You. We then get a montage of photos featuring the late great King Stache. And if you look closely, you’ll also catch an image of Cavill’s CGI’d face.

With that Justice League photo, we’re again reminded of the terrible job done to his face.

After the video was posted, fans on Twitter started posting memorials to King Stache.

Popular fan artist BossLogic, of course, had to get in and pay tribute to King Stache in his own way. By making a poster of the fallen facial hair.

Now we say goodbye to a fallen friend, and now I’ll go home and brush my facial hair extra well. Because you never know when their time might come.
