Marvel Studios’ blockbuster mega-epic film Avengers: Infinity War will be here in just a few short days. Interestingly enough, the movie will appear to break Marvel Studios’ recent tradition of having at least two post-credit scenes. Avengers: Infinity War will only have one scene after the movie ends.

Marvel Studios only had one post-credit scene for almost all of Phase 1 including Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Thor. They switched things up for The Avengers when they had two scenes after the film ended. There was a mid-credit scene teasing Thanos and the post-credit scene where The Avengers eat some delicious shawarma following the Battle of New York against Loki and the Chitauri.

During Phase 2 only Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron would have just one scene after the movie ended. Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Ant-Man would all have two scenes.

In Phase 3 every single film would have at least two scenes following the conclusion of the film. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would actually have 4. Those films include Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, and Black Panther.

What theories do you have for the post-credit scene in Avengers: Infinity War? Could we see Adam Warlock awaken from the cocoon that was teased in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2? Will the Silver Surfer show up as a casting list hinted at? Could they introduce another major villain maybe Kang the Conqueror or Annihilus? Feige just recently confirmed they are working on an Eternals movie, could we see a connection there? What about Captain Marvel could she show up before she makes her big screen debut in her own film?

Avengers: Infinity War comes to theaters on April 27, 2018.
