New Set Photo Gives Best Look at Michelle Pfeiffer’s Original Wasp Suit

Ant-Man and The Wasp

With Avengers: Infinity War destroying the box office, Marvel Studios is already getting ramped up for their next big film of the summer, Ant-Man and The Wasp. The first Ant-Man revealed that Janet Van Dyne aka The Wasp sacrificed herself to save millions of Americans.

Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym explains her sacrifice:

“Separatists had hijacked a Soviet missile silo in Kursk and launched an ICBM at the United States. The only way to the internal mechanics was through solid titanium. I knew I had to shrink between the molecules to disarm the missile, but my regulator had sustained too much damage. Your mother, she didn’t hesitate.”

Janet Van Dyne went subatomic in order to disarm the ICBM.

It was a heroic sacrifice. Hank Pym thought he had lost his wife forever. He believed her to be dead. But Scott Lang rekindles his hope that she might still be alive when he goes subatomic to defeat Darren Cross aka Yellowjack. Not only does he go subatomic, but he also returns to tell about it.

We knew Janet Van Dyne would be returning when Marvel Studios cast Michelle Pfeiffer in the role, but we are just now getting our first look at the original Wasp suit for the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp film.

One of the big mysteries of the upcoming film is whether or not Hank Pym and company actually rescue Janet Van Dyne or if you believe they do, how they do it.

In the second Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer, it is revealed that Hank Pym discovers a way to go subatomic and enter the Quantum Realm. Michael Peña’s Luis explains, “Dr. Pym, I actually heard what happened to you. You opened up the Quantum Realm. That’s when this crazy, creepy Ghost that walks through walls and stuff, stole your tech. Now, she wants to takeover the world or whatever.”

Does Hank Pym discover Janet Van Dyne in the Quantum Realm or will she somehow figure out about Ghost and once again save the day?

Ant-Man and The Wasp comes to theaters on July 6, 2018.
