Director James Gunn took to Facebook to give an update on Guardians of the Vol. 3. He most recently shared a photo of himself working on the script and then went into more detail in an impromptu Question & Answer session in the comments of the post where he discussed the incorporation of potential Fox characters and how different this movie will be from the previous two films.

The most popular question was whether or not James Gunn had finished the soundtrack. Gunn responded, “Mostly. But I’ve also changed it a lot, so who knows!”

As to what some of the songs are he did reveal one, The Guardians Theme by Tyler Bates.

As to which characters will be in the film Gunn was tight lipped when one user hoped he would Nova. “I can add anyone Marvel owns. But I’ve already chosen the characters.”

As to how far Gunn is into the process, he detailed that’s he’s a year in and the script is pretty far along. Gunn explained, “For many many months I first write the treatment which is 80 pages or so with photographs. That turns into GotG – I’m now rewriting and making sure my rough draft works.”

As to whether or not Gunn will incorporate any current Fox owned characters if the deal goes through, he was pretty adamant that wouldn’t be happening saying, “Not gonna happen in any major way. Too far along.”

As to how long it might take to shoot the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film, Gunn took to Twitter and estimated it could take around five months, but might be a little longer since this film is a little more complex.

What do you make of James Gunn’s update? What are you hoping to see in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Do you want to see Adam Warlock, Nova, or maybe Magus?
