Dragon Ball Super Moves to Prime Time

Dragon Ball Super will head to a prime time slot during Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim lineup. This is the first time Dragon Ball will be on during primetime in over a decade. The show will replace King of the Hill.

The news was confirmed by Toonami and appears on their schedule moving forward.

The reruns will begin airing on Monday, July 2nd at 8PM ET beginning with Episode 1. It will air at 8PM ET Monday through Friday.

Dragon Ball Super is the sequel to creator Akira Toriyama’s original Dragon Ball franchise and the first original Dragon Ball storyline in 18 years.

The story follows Goku and his friends after they defeated Majin Buu and brought peace to Earth. Throughout the series Goku encounters malevolent beings and destructive deities as he becomes ever more powerful. Not only does he continue to protect and defend Earth, but he travels to distant universes to face even more powerful opponents.

Some of Goku’s new opponents include the God of Destruction Beerus, his long-time foe Frieza, Goku Black, and more.

There are also a number of tournaments that pit Goku and his friends’ abilities against the greatest warriors of multiple universes.

New episodes of Dragon Ball Super will still air at 10:30 PM on Saturdays during Toonami on Cartoon Network alongside other anime favorites, My Hero Academia, FLCL: Progressive, and Hunter x Hunter.
