The streaming world has taken the entertainment industry by storm. Every company is preparing their own individual service, looking to cash in on the Netflix revolution. DC Universe is the latest to join that team. Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ new streaming service is set to launch sometime this Fall. But these things take time. There’s plenty of kinks to work out, when it comes to a service that could be potentially used by millions. A lot of quality testing and assurance goes into this process. Would you want to be a part of it?! DC Universe is offering a chance to beta test the service in August.

Open betas are nothing new to gamers, and that’s exactly what DC is offering to their customers, a chance to beta test the new DC Universe streaming service. You can head over to the DC Universe Website to sign up for the beta test. A smart idea that should draw many fans who just want to test the service. After those potential customers get a look at what the streaming service has to offer, DC will probably find themselves with quite a few customers.

So what exactly is this service going to offer? And what isn’t it going to offer?

This Is Your DC Universe

Every form of the DC Universe on any screen you own. That sounds incredible. Everything from comics, movies, TV shows, and animated series. You name it, DC Universe seems to have it. Except a few notable absences…

You’ll notice that the current DCEU doesn’t seem to be included in this bundle just yet. The decision certainly makes sense, from a business standpoint. They still want to sell DVD’s and blu-rays, after all. Just like Netflix or Huluthe service could have certain movies, graphic novels or other goodies on a seasonal or monthly basis.

Meaning Wonder Woman would be available to watch one month, Man of Steel the next. It’s a great way to keep the content fresh and the community invested in continuous updates. People are less likely to delete the service if they believe the content could grow or change.

The streaming service’s big draw is their set of original series. It includes the Harley Quinn Animated Series, the live-action Swamp Thing series, live-action Doom Patrol, a new season of Young Justice and the Titans live-action show featuring the work of Geoff Johns. Any one of those series, characters or teams should be enough to excite DC fans. But all of them?! It wouldn’t be DC without a little controversy though. Leaked photos of Titans cast members drew the ire of fans everywhere. Yet that’s no trailer. DC hasn’t offered their own glimpse at the Robin-led show, other than a few pictures here and there.

DC Universe promises a number of their animated films will be available on the service including Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. There will also be DC’s classic animated series like Batman: The Animated Series. Along with animated films there will be live-action films like Superman, and Tim Burton’s Batman. It will also feature the classic Wonder Woman television show.

In a big surprise, the service will also feature a curated list of modern and classic digital comics from Action Comics #1 to Rebirth.

The service will also feature a forum where fans can connect with creators. There will also be a store to purchase exclusive DC Comics merchandise.

There will also be rewards for members such as tickets to exclusive events.

The new streaming service will begin Beta Testing this August. It will be able to work on all your devices including your desktop, iOS, and Android. It’s also compatible with Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Google Chromecast.
