After James Gunn Firing Dave Bautista Likens Disney to Fascists

Dave Bautista has been the most outspoken cast member from the Guardians of the Galaxy since James Gunn was fired by Disney.

Bautista’s initial reaction was rather tempered primarily pointing to Gunn’s character as a “loving, caring, [and] good natured.” He would go on to say that he was “NOT ok with what’s happening to him.”

However, his rhetortic would quickly escalate insinuating that the people who exposed James Gunn’s sickening Tweets regarding child pornagraphy, pedophilia, and molestation were “cybernazis.”

Bautista would try to emphasize the fact that Gunn’s firing was only due to “horrible JOKES.” However, a report from Crazy Days and Nights indicates it might have been far worse with Gunn possibly being under investigation by the FBI for possession of child pornography in relation to Gunn’s friend Huston Huddleston’s child pornography case.

Bautista would double down on his rhetoric. He would try to explain that it wasn’t Gunn’s own Tweets and actions that triggered Disney to fire him, but the people who exposed his behavior.

However, Bautista’s taken it a step further. After almost the entire cast issued a joint statement last week, Bautista decided to not only target the people who exposed Gunn’s behavior, but he’s now likening his own employer to Nazis and fascists, while calling the exposing of Gunn’s actions a “smear campaign.”

On Sunday, Bautista would write on Twitter:

“I will do what I’m legally obligated to do but Guardians without James Gunn is not what I signed up for. GOTG w/o James Gunn just isn’t GOTG. It’s also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis. That’s just how I feel.”

Not only is Bautista likening Disney to fascists, but he’s also likening Marvel Studios, the movie production company owned by Disney that puts out all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films including Guardians of the Galaxy to fascists as well. He clearly likens Disney and Marvel Studios to fascists by saying that his employer a.k.a. Disney is empowering “fascists #cybernazis.”

While Bautista is blaming everyone but James Gunn for James Gunn’s Tweets, James Gunn actually accepted responsibility for his actions.

He wrote in a statement:

“I understand and accept the business decisions taken today. Even these many years later, I take full responsibility for the way I conducted myself then.”

Do you think it’s a good strategy for Dave Bautista to begin targeting his own employer and likening them to fascists? What do you think Disney should do with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Do you think they should just cancel the planned sequel?
