Actress Jamie Lee Curtis who will be starring in the upcoming Halloween sequel weighed in on the Colin Kaepernick and Nike deal.

On Wednesday morning, Curtis tweeted “I mean… come ON! Need/want! Standing with Nike and Halloween movie!” She would include an image of a T-shirt that reads “MIKE” and is accompanied by Mike Myers holding an enlarged Nike logo in his hand much like he would do with a knife or hammer.

Curtis’ tweet is in response to Nike renegotiating their contract with former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick to be the face of their “Just Do It” campaign as it enters its 30th year. Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson reported that Nike renegotiated their deal after Kaepernick received “interest from other shoe companies.”

Kaepernick and Nike revealed the first ad earlier this week.

When the stock market opened on Tuesday after the holiday break, Nike’s shared dropped by nearly 4 percent. Bloomberg reported, “Nike shares slipped as much as 3.9 percent to $79.” The Wrap reported Nike lost $3.75 billion in mark cap after trading opened on Tuesday.

Many people began to boycott Nike after their choice to make Kaepernick the face of their ad campaign.

There were also a number of folks who began to criticize the boycotters.

While others began to push to have Nike products donated to help those in need.

What do you make of Curtis’ Tweet in support of Nike and Kaepernick? Will this effect whether you go see the new Halloween movie?
