Gen Con Bans The Quartering’s Jeremy Hambly After He Was Assaulted

Jeremy Hambly aka The Quartering provided an update on his assault at a bar while in Indianapolis attending Gen Con. Hambly reports that Gen Con banned him after Elm City Games owner Matt Loter attacked him back in August.
Hambly made the announcement in a YouTube video:
In the video, Hambly shows an email from Gen Con Customer Service noting that both he and his attacker, identified as Matt Loter, would be “suspended until further notice.”
They explain that Hambly is being banned for “targeted online bullying of attendees.”
The full statement reads:
“After further review, Gen Con has determined that the two principal account holders in an off-site incident will be suspended from attendance at future conventions for an indefinite length of time. This account holder has violated the convention’s Ethics, Conduct, and No Harassment policy for targeted online bullying of attendees, and will be suspended until further notice.
Gen Con is committed to a safe, harassment-free environment. Additional Terms of Service violations may result in more severe actions, including a permanent ban from Gen Con and any affiliated events.”
As Jeremy states in his video, Gen Con does not provide any evidence for their indefinite suspension which amounts to a ban.
Hambly speculates that Gen Con banned him for “covering my own Antifa attacker.”
In the video Hambly is visibly upset and he concludes with strong words:
“I get banned for being attacked. Sure, Matt Loter is suspended too, big f****** deal. I get punished. Thanks a lot Gen Con. Way to handle it with class.”
After the attack occurred, Gen Con had been censoring their Twitch livestream feed effectively stopping any kind of discussion about the attack on Hambly.
Gen Con had not made a public statement regarding the attack except to tell the Indianapolis Star, “As always, we cooperate with local law enforcement. For more than 50 years, Gen Con has provided a safe, welcoming environment for attendees.” A representative would go on to tell the Indianapolis Star that they had not been contacted by IMPD regarding the attack.
This does not appear to be a well-informed decision at all. In fact, it appears Gen Con is punishing a victim of assault while trying to claim they are “committed to a safe, harassment-free environment.”
