WATCH: Call of Duty Makes Attack Helicopter Courting Joke

Who doesn’t like a good attack helicopter joke? Well, it seems the latest [easyazon_link identifier=”B072MKR1RL” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Call of Duty[/easyazon_link] game sure likes them. Check out the video entitled “Choppers Need Love Too” below:

The short clip is an absolute riot. It’s narrated in a manner in which you would normally see on a nature program. The video goes on for about thirty seconds describing the mating habits of the attack helicopter. We then witness the male helicopter make its motions around the female helicopter. She accepts and the video ends with the female helicopter turning around for the male.

Jokes surrounding attack helicopters are plenty. And Call of Duty is the perfect place to find them as well given that the attack helicopter is one of the more well-known kill streak rewards in the multiplayer facet of the game. Here is an example from Call of Duty” Modern Warfare:

But this isn’t the only video in the series. There are a few more each focusing on different gags and memes.

The official Call of Duty Twitter handle shared a bunch of other  hilariously funny videos. This next one has a player NPC in what it’s similar to a meditation or yoga video. The video does its job and almost lulls you to sleep. But then the end comes and a guy riding on an ATV blares onto the screen shouting, “Let’s Go Mother F*****” as gun shots sound out around him.

This next one is pretty self-explanatory. Just cover your boys and watch:

Next up is a video featuring Post Malone as his face is superimposed on a number of in-game NPCs. Check it out here:

Finally, we have a video dedicated to Denver Bronco Von Miller, who is no stranger to funny ads. Last year he did a series of them with Best Buy’s Geek Squad. Von Miller is known for playing Doom on Conan O’Brien and other games. It looks like he might be a fan of Call of Duty too! The short clip features Von and his patented “Hat Attack” which decimates an entire opposing team!

All of this is part of a marketing campaign by Activision for the upcoming [easyazon_link identifier=”B07DMHBFG1″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Call of Duty: Black Ops 4[/easyazon_link]. Using the #CODNation, they launch videos that feature celebrities, content creators, and athletes using funny moments or great video editing from their beta. The stated goal of the videos is to get players to create their own videos to help hype the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 under the hashtag.

If you search for the hashtag #CODNation you will find plenty of videos that highlight the best and funniest moments players have to share. Some of them were really good and others were not so much. But either way it looks like they have their player base interacting pretty well.

Let me ask, will anyone else pick up Black Ops 4? And what do you think of this marketing campaign, is it creative?
