Star Wars Rumor: Luke Skywalker to Get in Lightsaber Fight with Sith Ghost in Episode IX!

A new rumor suggests that Luke Skywalker will get in an epic lightsaber fight with a Sith force ghost.

The rumor comes from YouTuber Mike Zeroh who claims he got his hands on the scene schedules, the concept art, and story board descriptions. He claims that Skywalker will fight a Sith force ghost inside a hut that leads to a tunnel.

Zeroh goes on to describe that Skywalker will be standing within the hut with an ignited green lightsaber. A figure wearing a black hood and robe stands behind him and wields a red lightsaber. Skywalker will eventually turn around and confront the figure. As the hooded figure approaches Skywalker, he attacks him, only to see the figure vanish and reappear behind him. The figure will then come closer again and Luke once again strikes at him. This time he connects and the figure crumbles to the ground into nothing.

Zeroh speculates the figure is either a vision from the past or a legitimate Sith ghost.

If this is in fact a Sith Ghost, it’s another break in the original Star Wars canon created by George Lucas. If you happened to watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars, there’s an episode where Yoda tries to figure out just who the Sith Lord is that is causing all the turmoil in the galaxy. On his journey to discover the Sith Lord, he confronts what appears to be the Sith Ghost of Darth Bane. Yoda clearly states, “Real you are not…Exist you do not anymore.”

In fact, Yoda is only able to learn the ways of becoming a Force Ghost by not only stating that he is good intentions and light in his heart, but by passing a number of trials exhibiting the truth of his words.

The novelization of [easyazon_link identifier=”B00513HWJI” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith[/easyazon_link] also indicates that the Sith cannot become Force Ghosts because they can never obtain their ultimate goal: immortality.

“The ultimate goal of the Sith, yet they can never achieve it; it comes only through the release of self, not the exaltation of self. It comes through compassion, not greed. Love is the answer to the darkness.”

Star Wars’ Pablo Hidalgo seemingly confirmed this in a now deleted tweet stating, “The idea of the Force afterlife is that it’s unknowable to the dark side, for it is requires selfishness.”

If this rumor about Skywalker facing off against an alleged Sith ghost is true, it’s possible that it could simply be an illusion or a conjuring. Once again in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sidious and Count Dooku summon the ghost of Sifo-Dyas in an attempt to undermine Yoda.

It’s quite possible that if Mike Zeroh’s information is correct, a Sith Lord might actually be performing a similar ritual. However, the description of the scenario sounds too much like a scene out of a New Hope. In fact, it appears to be the opposite of the infamous fight between Darth Vader and Obi-wan Kenobi. In the iconic fight, Vader strikes down Obi-wan Kenobi. However, his body vanishes and we later find out he ascends and becomes a force ghost. It’s possible this could be a flashback scene where Snoke is attacking Skywalker through the Force and could try to offer an explanation as to why Luke acted the way he did in regards to Kylo Ren in [easyazon_link identifier=”B0788FL36D” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Last Jedi[/easyazon_link].

What do you think about Zeroh’s information? What do you think it could mean?
