Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Releases New Design for Spinnerella – Fans Hate It!

Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power showrunner Noelle Stevenson recently released their redesign for Spinnerella and fans are not taking to it at all.

Here’s the new redesign:

Along with the redesign, Stevenson also released a brief description of the character:

“Spinnerella is not tied to a specific kingdom, but she’s always been a staunch ally for the Rebellion. By spinning, she can create cyclones of wind to blow the enemy away. She usually has a kind, loving nature, but she can go from gentle breeze to mighty storm in a heartbeat.”

Fans took to Twitter to express their distaste for the redesign, and pointed out how different this character design was from the original Spinnerella.

One user even compared her to Valiant’s superhero Faith.

Some folks did find the design inspiring.

The more Netflix and Noelle Stevenson release about She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, the worse the show looks. It’s honestly hard to even call the she show She-Ra since the characters have been completely redesigned and look nothing like the originals. It just looks like another person trying to create their own IP using the brand recognition of a popular 80s animated show and completely not understanding the actual source material. Much like other companies and brands who have tried to do this I expect She-Ra and the Princesses of Power to go broke. In fact, it already appears there are problems for the show as they moved up the release date to November 13th in what looks to be a move to avoid competition with the upcoming Fantastic Beasts film.

What do you think about this new Spinnerella design? Do you plan on watching She-Ra and the Princesses of Power?
