Disney Reveals 10 New Captain Marvel Character Posters!

Disney and Marvel Studios revealed ten brand new Captain Marvel character posters which include Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, and Jude Law’s Starforce Commander, and more.

Take a look:

Unfortunately, the posters don’t shed light on one of the biggest mysteries surrounding Captain Marvel and that is Jude Law’s identity. There are numerous theories that predict he is playing Kree hero Mar-Vell as well as Kree villain Yon-Rogg. Some of those theories even indicate he could be playing both characters or at least playing one of the characters while impersonating another.

My favorite theory is that like Carol Danvers, he’s lost his memory and has taken up a new identity. I wouldn’t be surprised if the film focuses on Carol eventually trying to save Law’s Mar-Vell and remind him of who he truly is.

One thing is clear is that if Jude Law is in fact playing Mar-Vell, he will not be referred to as Captain Marvel. Law made that abundantly clear while talking with Wired.

“No I’m not. Brie Larson is Captain Marvel. Am I allowed to say that? I’m just going to make sure the Marvel police aren’t going to shoot me. No, I can say that.”

Law described his character to Entertainment Weekly back in September:

“He is driven by a belief in the divine leadership of the Kree people. So he’s almost a devout warrior — unquestioning, conservative, but inspirational.”

Also missing from these character posters is Ronan. Ronan is expected to play a key role in the film as early photos from the film see him meeting with Law’s character and discussing the Kree special forces team known as Starforce, which Captain Marvel and Korath the Pursuer are part of.

It’s really interesting that he is left out. It could be that his role is not as important as some suspect, or he was deliberately left out to create intrigue surrounding his role in the movie.

What do you make of these character posters? Do you like what you see?
